New allegations have surfaced about Fetullah GULEN whose death was announced by sources close to FETO on October 20, 2024. ‘The FETO leader had been in a good shape in general, with his consciousness intact and his physical health in good condition with no additional problems other than his chronic illnesses even though he had been under medical care at the hospital for the last week’, according to FETO sources. As clearly seen in this statement, GULEN’s sudden death led to a lot of question marks within the group.
Rumor has it that Mustafa OZCAN, a powerful figure within FETO who holds the reins to the financial network and the special service units [specially designated coordinators/supervisors] within the group, instructed Cevdet TURKYOLU to hold back or completely cut off the medication of F. GULEN so as not to lose his power in the aftermath of the recent reshuffling within FETO in September 2024 which saw the followers of Mustafa OZCAN being demoted to passive positions and against the backdrop of growing voices naming Abdullah AYMAZ as the new leader of the group.
Sources also claim that certain high-level members were not invited to the funeral which was scheduled to be held at the FETO camp on October 23, 2024. There are further claims that Cevdet TURKYOLU was to make a statement in the wake of the funeral publicly declaring Mustafa OZCAN as the new leader of the group explaining that ‘before he died F. GULEN instructed in his last will to pass on his seal/signet to Mustafa OZCAN’.
